Success Mantra
Success is one of the most discussed topics and still remains a lesser explored topic ever. More we discuss, the more we know and more we realize that the less we know about it.
Everyone has shared his own point of view about success, here is how i perceive it. In my last article and video, discussed about Success without Goals Setting and Passion. Now, before we move further, we must understand clearly that success is relative.
When we say that Success is relative, it means that success is always considered in in relation to some standard already set and meeting or going beyond that, means success for us. Or we can also say that success is comparative in nature.
You may have some set standards to compare in relation to physical, mental, emotional or economic standards. Over the years, economic success is considered most relevant than others, whereas the fact is that economic success is meaningless without the Work-life balance.
The principles discussed here are relevant not only for economic success, rather also critical for maintaining balance of life. Also to be noted that they have not been mentioned in any chronological or relevance order, each of them is critical and equally relevant than any other.
Success Mantra
1. Character : First and foremost principle to be followed ever in life to be successful is to have and maintain high standards of character. Character means to be loyal for your business, job, company and associates as well as family.
Those who fall on to it, are never able to win trust of juniors, seniors or even colleagues. Once you are not trusted, you never develop close relationships with others, thereby always staying one step away from success.
2. Humility : Humility is just the opposite of ego. The moment we take our first step towards success, very first first barrier, we face, is ego.
And the surprising part, while being egoistic is, that, we are not even aware of the fact, we are being egoistic at that time. While being egoistic.
We miss that closeness with others and ignore the true feedback for scope of improvement in us. Which we could have received and taken in right sense, to be used for our next step towards success. Different games and management activities could be created and delivered to demonstrate the same.
3. Discipline : Discipline is imperative for success. Rather to be precise, success is meaningless without being disciplined. Be it the discipline in business, health or relationships.
Commit yourself to be used by the discipline you follow. Your community knows and trusts you by the habits, virtues, values and principles you follow in your life rather than your words, which you may over commit and forget at times. Different activities
4. Doing Extra : To be really committed for success, we must ensure that we deliver more than what is expected from us at any given point of time by our seniors, juniors, colleagues or even personal family members.
To win the confidence and trust of others, go beyond the expectations of others around in any specific task and make sure for yourself to convert that into a habit of doing it again and again always. Blindfold and other challenging assignments could establish the value of the same.
5. Punctuality : Punctuality is one of the most ignored principle of success. Being in India, time and timelines are, most of the times, given least importance.
We commit and take our words for granted and rarely feel bad about reaching late or not meeting our deadlines. Whereas keeping our word could have taken just a little more effort and nothing else. Again that little extra to keep our word keeps us much more closer to success.
6. Integrity : Integrity is being your word like yourself, not an inch less. Once committed, then no looking back and standing rock-solid for it, without any logic, reason or excuse.
Whatever happens, be bold enough to face the consequences, favorable or vice-versa. Take responsibility of the outcomes, irrespective of circumstances, rather than blaming others for not so good or bad results of the inputs. Acknowledging integrity of the team is the least highlighted Business Secret by Successful Entrepreneurs.
7. Being Grateful : Always stay in the space of gratitude to GOD as well as all and everything around. Success comes not only because of the existence of things and people around.
But also because of the absence of equal or more happenings or incidents caused by others in some or the other space at the same time. Being grateful to others enhances the positive aura around you and takes you another step closer to success.
8. Persistence : Success never comes to you, you go for it with commitment and persistence without any stress. Those who start half hearted and quit mid-way are never able to achieve new heights and standards in life.
Success demands high levels of persistence irrespective of outcomes of the sincere efforts. We are generally scared of making commitments, whereas success as well as happiness lies committing and pursuing your goals beyond your own as well as others’ expectations.
9. Being Present : Most of the times, we are concerned about the kind of results. We have been able to cause in the past and expect our results in the future also based on them and not being able to plan living in the present all the time.
So our present is over-influenced by the past than, what our potential could be, in future. Our thoughts are so much entangled in our past that we miss to live one hundred percent in present. Practice living in present to move faster towards success.
10. Being Coachable : Being Coachable means keep seeking input points for scope of improvement in your performance from an expert.
Perfection is a never ending process, it’s a journey, not a point. Relish the journey with a Life Coach, than waiting to celebrate it on one fine day.
Commit yourself to work with a coach from whom you get true feedback with customized clear points for improvement and under his/ her able guidance, learn from the pitfalls to live in the present to enjoy the SUCCESS in every moment of journey, called LIFE.
